Hi, I'm Amanda
It's all about cats

Growing up with an Irish grandmother and her deep reverence for cats, I have had a magnetic pull to learn more about these beautiful wild creatures that have been such a big part of my life. CatKind is about creating homes that provide sanctuary to the cats that live in them and to strengthen the bonds with those who love them.
My focus is on helping people to create harmonious environments that can keep their cats happy by meeting their needs in the domestic setting.
My qualifications and certificates include:
-
International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) Diploma of Feline Nursing
-
ISFM Certificate of Feline Friendly Handling
-
International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) Certificate of Hospice and Palliative Care (I am the first vet nurse to complete this certificate in Australia)
-
Mental Health First Aid
-
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
-
Associate degree in Adult and Vocational Education
-
I am currently studying three other cat related courses
Based on Melbourne, I have spent most of my life working to create positive environments for cats, and I’m excited to focus on helping you create the best possible life for the cats already in your care. Together, we can build a happy, healthy, and harmonious environment for you and your cats to thrive.
The Mission
We're proud to support Melbourne cat owners in building homes where their cats feel safe, understood, and deeply loved. Sometimes the cat - human relationship bond can be fractured when there is a misunderstanding or clash between the cat’s needs and those of their people.
We offer various packages and strategies founded on feline behaviour, animal sentience and well being principles. These are used to consider your living situation to co-create an environment that brings you to a closer connection with your cat and honours their personality, emotional and physical needs. We strive for quality of life for all ages through different packages tailored to your cat’s unique needs, health status and life stage.
We hope that with a greater understanding of what makes your cat feel safe and how they like to be loved, the happier they will be.
